Virtual Learning Nightmare

*Disclaimer*

This is not to take away from any of the educational teachers; y'all are doing amazing, and I honestly have so much more appreciation and respect for y'all!! But y'all need to take these GOT DAMN KIDS BACK; we don't want Em!! (LOL)

Mamas!!!

How are y'all holding up with this virtual learning? Can I be honest with y'all for a second? This online learning can GO STRAIGHT TO HELL in a handbasket!! I thought parenting was hard with guaranteed breaks, but baby, these children have been home since MARCH 12, 2020 (read that again)! I am TIREEEEEED!!! BUT by the GRACE OF GOD, they approved hybrid learning as of last Wednesday, and mama I am fin to two-step these kids right to the door with a shot of Elderberry!

For the mamas with one child, bless y'all little hearts! But baby, for the mamas with two or more, I know y'all somewhere in the corner of your room contemplating why you even thought having children was a good idea!! Honestly, there are times I think I should have swa.... you know what nevermind, lol. Let me give you a second to pick your jaw up off the floor. Mama's now I done told y'all this is a TRANSPARENT blog. Go on and act your age; we all got a little bit of freak nasty in us (insert your best Cardi B OWWWW)….now back to the problem at hand, baby, these CHILDREN THEY GOT TO GO, and I am counting down until March 15, 2021! But in the spirit of Flashback Friday, I am going to share my virtual journey with y'all! As you can see in these pictures I was organized in the beginning but if you could see it now.....LOL

Let me give you a rundown of my mornings starting at 8 am...…SHUT UP! STOP ARGUING! NO, YOU CAN NOT PLAY THE GAME! NO, YOU CAN'T HAVE CANDY! BE QUIET! LEAVE YOUR BROTHER ALONE! LEAVE YOUR SISTER ALONE! STOP WHINING! SIT at YOUR DESK! GET BACK IN CLASS! I mean, mamas, I am about to record myself on tape because I am just so tired of talking....like WTF?!? I have a kindergartener, second grader, and fifth-grader, and my toughest one is the kindergartener! I promise y'all he will outcry an infant when he doesn't want to do something. I mean, getting him to write a sentence feels more challenging than pushing a baby out that is sunny side up. And I'll have you know my firstborn was sunny side up; I'll never forget how she used them tongs like she was digging for the last flat in a wing bucket, but that's a story for another day.

But to be honest, mama I've caved multiple times with my youngest because his crying would stress me out to the point I would want to cry; like, you win, lil homie. I mean, 45 min later, I could've downed two bottles of wine, and his crying still wouldn't have sounded angelic. My Oldest can't focus for shit like he will be doing his work, and I go to another room and come back, and he laid out on the floor playing ROBLOX on his phone; he rushes through all his assignments! And mama my middle child (Wheeewwww), look, I don't even know where to begin with her! She is ABSOLUTELY not a morning person, so she will get up and find a different spot to sleep; so I'm thinking she is getting ready, but no, she is buried in a blanket in another room. I mean mama I am completely burnt out by 10:30 am because of the circus I am running. How many of yall can relate to some of this? I know some mamas absolutely enjoy having their children home for 24hrs, and I applaud you, but I ain't the one! I enjoy my ME time, especially when I get off work.

As moms, we have a lot on our plate; just being women, it feels like we carry the world's weight on our shoulders. We play so many roles as a mom, and now with Virtual Learning, I know the amount of stress feels overwhelming, and maybe you even feel under-appreciated. I'm here to tell you I appreciate you! I can tell you I have had many breakdowns in my room since virtual learning has begun! Whether it was in the shower, truck, or my room, baby I was in there ugly crying (and cussing my husband out in my head because he didn't have to deal with it). There is no other way to say this, but baby sometimes the only option is to cry through it; with a glass of wine, of course. Mamas I want you to know it's okay to shut down for the day and take care of YOU! So today, if you're feeling overwhelmed, take a break, get yourself some snacks, a strong drink and go sit in your room, find a feel-good movie and, most importantly, mama...LOCK YOUR BEDROOM DOOR, and DO NOT CRACK if you hear a cry, bickering, or the infamous line I'm hungry!!! I promise you; they will be alright! And for the mamas with children that haven't transitioned to in-person learning yet, may the force be with you! As always, peace and blessings.

Mama, the key is to find a stress reliever that works for you! Let me know in the comments below what you are doing for yourself to survive this Virtual Learning; you may just help the next mama out!

XOXO,

Devon

The one thing I do that helps and makes me laugh is text with other moms and we complain to each and laugh at ourselves. No one is perfect lol.
